Bachelor Degree in Marketing

What will I learn while earning a bachelor degree in marketing?
A bachelor degree in marketing will provide you with the knowledge and experience to assist companies in selling their brands and products. Some people even use a marketing degree to move into public relations, making a person be the brand or product. While you are working towards your bachelor degree in marketing, you will take a number of different business classes, designed to give you a feel for the different needs that can be met with a good marketing approach. For example, you will learn about branding and how to sell a brand's name, aside from the product itself, above its competitors - what the Business Marketing Association refers to as 'corporate image advertising.' Another important aspect of marketing that you will learn is how to use advertising to draw in new clients or customers to your product and how to keep it fresh and current in a changing world.
You can expect to take courses in economics, law, psychology, journalism and accounting, as part of the workload, which will prepare you for the business end of the industry.
What types of careers can it help prepare me for?
With a bachelor degree in marketing, you will have a number of options available to you for a career. The Bureau of Labor and Statistics has noted that many people with this type of degree choose to go into advertising, public relations, promotions and sales and are often hired on in upper lever positions, such as managers or directors. Jobs in this field are often equally as demanding as they are rewarding and offer many opportunities for traveling and other perks. It is a highly competitive field and one that is constantly changing with the shifts in societal tastes and trends.
